Beautiful Words

The words that soothe me:
susurrus: the whispering of leaves.
spindrift: the tang of the sea whipped up by the wind.
halcyon: a time that was once idyllic and happy.
ethereal, marmalade, kismet, dwindle, gloaming, gossamer, saudade, hiraeth
petrichor
Komorebi: light filtered through leaves.
Lambent – Not only the definition: softly bright or radiant, but also the way it rolls off the tongue. Like a well buttered piece of toast…
I also love scintillant for sparkling or luminescent. And evanescence. Those are the two that jump right to mind.
Mellifluous: pleasingly smooth and musical to hear
Chuchoter, (shoo-show-tay) the French for to whisper and even more onomatopoeic than the English. Imagine someone saying it in your ear.
Gossamer. Somehow it sussurates and wafts like the thing it describes.
I love the winds: zephyr, mistral and meltemi
Also…. solipsism, oleaginous, and inchoate. Just love the way they sound and feel as you say them.
verisimilitude Probably over used this in my Art History essays at Uni'
